Curic BoxView is a recently released SketchUp extension (launched November 2025) designed to simplify the creation and management of 3D section boxes. 🛠️ How to Use the New Curic Box View (Step-by-Step)
- Install & Activate: Ensure you have the latest version via the Extension Warehouse or Curic’s official site. Find the toolbar icon (a cube with arrows).
- Select Your Target: Select a group, component, or object. Pro tip: Select a single chair, piece of furniture, or a room.
- Launch the Box: Click the Curic Box View icon. A translucent colored box will appear around your selection.
- Navigate:
- Click a Face: Jumps to Orthographic Front/Side/Top view.
- Click an Edge: Jumps to a 2-point perspective (e.g., Front-Right).
- Click a Vertex (Corner): Jumps to a true 3-point Isometric view.
- Fine Tune: Use the scroll wheel while the box is active to zoom the box itself (changing the focal point) without moving the camera.
- Exit: Right-click anywhere or press

3. Customizable Hotkey Integration
While you could always assign a hotkey to activate the box, the new update allows contextual hotkeys while the box is active. You can now hold Shift to lock the current axis or Ctrl (Cmd) to invert the view (jump to the opposite side of the box).
