SCP Roleplay Script: ECHOES OF THE VERMILLION MUSE
6. Scene Flow & Beats
- Opening: Night shift begins; alarms trigger. GM reads a short atmospheric prompt: lights flicker, PA system crackles, security chatter about a containment alert.
- Briefing: Players receive initial mission summary (partial and possibly conflicting). Provide the Lead Researcher with classified log excerpt.
- Investigation: Players choose areas to inspect. GM introduces environmental clues and NPCs.
- First encounter: Players find SCP-XXXX crate open or tampered. One NPC exhibits altered memory/behavior.
- Scripted event: Security cameras show contradictory footage (timelines differ). Players must determine which feed is correct.
- Escalation: Attempts to secure or move SCP-XXXX cause shared hallucination among present players/NPCs. GM reads hallucination vignette tailored to each player (different sensory details, overlapping core elements).
- Decision point: Players must choose containment (seal and isolate) vs. destroy vs. study. Each choice has mechanical consequences (e.g., destroying causes temporal distortion; studying increases risk of memetic spread).
- Climax: A containment breach or moral dilemma (e.g., sacrifice one NPC to save many). Use a timed challenge (10–15 minutes) where players coordinate under misremembered facts.
- Resolution: Depending on outcomes, present after-action logs and consequences (loss of data, memetic contamination, commendations). Offer epilogue hooks.

- Health: 100% | Sanity: 40% (Already unstable)
- Equipment: Orange jumpsuit, ankle tracker, a single pencil (confiscated upon entry).
