1. Default Passwords

  • Check Documentation: The first step is to check the user manual or documentation that came with your Tronitek DVR. Often, default usernames and passwords are listed.
  • Common Defaults: Some common default admin passwords for various devices include "admin" for both the username and password, or "12345" for the password. However, it's crucial to verify this specifically for Tronitek devices.

Recovering or resetting admin access

  1. Check documentation and device label:
    • Look for admin credentials printed on the DVR, quick-start guide, or sticker.
  2. Try common defaults:
    • admin/admin, admin/12345, admin/123456, admin/0000, admin/ (blank).
  3. Local web interface or client software:
    • Some DVRs allow password recovery via email or security questions configured previously.
  4. Hardware reset:
    • Many models include a physical reset button (tiny recessed button) or require power-cycle + pressing a reset pin; consult model-specific manual.
    • Reset typically restores factory defaults (will erase custom settings).
  5. Manufacturer support:
    • Contact Tronitek support with model and proof of ownership for assistance or master-reset instructions.
  6. Firmware tools and backdoor accounts:
    • Avoid using unofficial tools or “backdoor” passwords from untrusted sources — these can brick devices or introduce malware.

The Official Reset Procedure (No Password Needed)

Tronitek does not have a public "backdoor" admin password. Instead, the legitimate solution is a hardware factory reset. This resets the device to default settings, including the password.

Steps to reset a Tronitek DVR:

  1. Power off the DVR completely (unplug the power adapter).
  2. Open the case (usually 4 screws on the bottom or back).
  3. Locate the CMOS battery (a small silver coin cell battery, CR2032) or a clear CMOS jumper (three pins with a plastic shunt covering two pins).
  4. Remove the battery for 30 seconds, OR move the jumper from pins 1-2 to pins 2-3 for 10 seconds, then move it back.
  5. Reassemble and power on the DVR.
  6. After boot, the default password (12345 or 123456) should work again.

Note: On some Tronitek models, there is a small "Reset" button inside the case (near the processor). Press and hold it for 10 seconds while powering on. tronitek dvr admin password

Part 2: Default Tronitech DVR Admin Passwords

The first step in any lockout situation is to try the factory defaults. Tronitech rebrands firmware from several major SDK providers (often Hisilicon or similar). Therefore, depending on the age and model of your DVR, one of the following combinations will likely work.

Part 7: When to Contact Tronitech Support

If you have tried all the methods above and still cannot access your DVR, it’s time to contact the manufacturer. Check Documentation: The first step is to check

Official Tronitech Support Channels:

  • Email: support@tronitech.com (include your DVR model number, firmware version, and the password_reset_request.bin file).
  • Phone: Check your user manual. Regional numbers vary (often a UK or China number).
  • Web: Visit tronitech.com (note the spelling—some domains use 'tech', others 'tek').

What to provide:

  • Model number (e.g., TR-804, TR-1620, T-series)
  • Firmware version (found on Menu > Info > System Info)
  • A photo of the DVR sticker (serial number and MAC address)

Be prepared for slow response times. Tronitech is not as large as Hikvision or Dahua, so support may take 2–5 business days.

Part 5: Best Practices – Never Get Locked Out Again

Once you regain access to your Tronitech DVR, follow these rules to avoid repeating the process: Recovering or resetting admin access

  1. Write it down physically: Keep a note in a secure location near the DVR (e.g., inside the user manual).
  2. Use a password manager: Store the DVR’s password in a digital vault like Bitwarden or KeePass.
  3. Set a hint: Many Tronitech models allow you to set a password hint or security question.
  4. Take a backup: After logging in, go to System > Maintenance > Export Configuration. Save the config file to a USB drive. This allows you to restore settings (including the password hash) later.
  5. Enable the network reset feature: Some firmware versions allow password reset via a linked email or phone number through the P2P cloud service. Check your network settings.
  6. Don’t use default passwords permanently. Change admin/12345 to something stronger but memorable, like Admin$2025DVR.
